February 9, 2012 - Foreign nationals working for private companies located in one of the free zones in Abu Dhabi and Dubai have received an extension on the earlier announced deadline to register or renew their national ID cards.

The Emirates Identity Authority announced that qualifying foreign nationals in Abu Dhabi and Dubai will not pay any fines if they retrieve their ID cards by March 31 and May 31, respectively.  Please note that this extension does not apply to free zones in other emirates since their deadlines have already expired.
